Pack Station
The Pack Station is a full-screen, keyboard-and-scanner bench for picking and packing. Every unit is scanned into its box, so a wrong or missing item is caught before the label goes on. Open it from Pack Station in the Navexa menu.
Who can use it
The owner, admins and the Fulfillment role get Pack Station access as supervisors. Under Settings → Team, set anyone's access to off, packer or supervisor. Members and viewers have no access unless you give it.
Equipment per bench
| Item | What for |
|---|---|
| Computer with Chrome or Edge | Runs the station (Chrome or Edge also reads a USB scale and warns when the scanner is unplugged). Set it never to sleep while plugged in: a sleeping computer drops its cart |
| USB barcode scanner (keyboard mode) | Scans items and shipping labels |
| 4×6 thermal label printer | Prints shipping labels and pick sheets |
| USB shipping scale (optional) | Checks box weights |
Give every product a barcode in Navexa: the bench checks each unit by scanning it. An item without one has to be confirmed by hand.
Silent printing with QZ Tray
Without setup, labels open the browser's print dialog. To print straight to the 4×6 printer:
- Install QZ Tray (free) on the bench computer.
- Open Pack Station → Setup. The printer panel walks you through installing the Navexa certificate (one pasted command) and setting 4×6 paper, then checks again.
- Pick the label printer.
If QZ Tray ever asks to allow a request from Navexa, choose Block, never Allow. Navexa's prints are signed and never ask.
Draw your warehouse
Under Pack Station → Setup → Open warehouse layout (owners and admins), draw the room, your racks and shelves, the pack benches and any obstacles. Navexa names every bin (A2-3 is rack A, shelf 2 from the top, bin 3 from the left), prints bin and rack labels, plans the walking route from each bench, and suggests moves that put your busiest items in the best bins. Set up the pick cart's slots there too, then on each bench computer pick which bench it is.
A packing session
- Fill a cart. Press B and pick how many hours you are packing. Navexa works out how many boxes those hours cover at your pace, buys the labels that aren't bought yet, fills a cart and prints a pick sheet. B, B fills a cart from labels already bought.
- Pick. Walk the bins once and put each item in its numbered cart slot.
- Pack. At the bench, Navexa shows one box at a time: rush orders first, then carrier by carrier, then by box size. Scan every unit; the label prints. Scan the label to close the box.
- Finish. When the cart is done, return anything left in the slots to their bins.
The bench warns you when something is off: a scan that isn't in this order, the carrier or box size changing, a label that didn't print, or the scanner or printer unplugged.
